George Bush Presidential Library and Museum

College Station, TX

George H.W. Bush, U.S. president from 1989-1993, helped usher in a new geopolitical era marked by the spread of freedom and free markets. During his term, the West prevailed in the Cold War, the Soviet Union gave way to a democratic Russia, the Berlin Wall “fell” unifying Germany within NATO and he signed two treaties to drastically reduce the threat of nuclear war. He worked with Congress to pass landmark civil rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The bulk of the library’s 40 million pages of holdings document the vice presidency and presidency of George Bush (1981-1993). The museum includes 100,000 artifacts related to his time in the White House.
