Legacy of the Plains Museum

The museum tells the stories of human and agricultural history in the North Platte Valley and High Plains. Exhibits focus on the archeology of Native American and Westward Expansions, the lives of pioneering settlers, the establishment of irrigation, development of rural communities, the culture of the High Plains and innovative technologies and successful practices for raising animals and crops in a semi-arid environment. It features pioneer and early community history, antique farm equipment, an 80-acre working farm and other structures. It also has one of the region’s most significant collections of artifacts and archival resources, used for research and reference by historians, scientists and agronomists.
